Acts 4:13 NIV
When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
In this scripture folks saw Peter and John heal a lame man and wanted to understand how they did it. They ended up being jailed and both men eventually explained that it was in Jesus name that they were able to heal the person. The people were surprised that these every day guys had the ability to perform a miracle. God doesn’t need to use the richest, strongest, most intelligent, or beautiful person in the room to make something happen. When you think of the world, how many millionaires or billionaires have dropped out of high school and have navigated life in a way that most people would have failed? How many athletes grow up in dire conditions to achieve greatness on the highest level? If the world can take anyone and make them successful by worldly standards, can God not do the same for his will? How many preachers or teachers of the gospel are ex-criminals, strippers, killers, etc? How many of us our sinners but still have ability to achieve amazing things by the world and God’s standards? The answer is all of us. We can all, as straight up daily sinners do miraculous things and help save souls for the kingdom of God by simply believing in Jesus Christ and leaning on God for his strength. Yes, when you strip us down, we’re just ordinary people, but the scripture shows that’s all God needs to use us.
