2 Timothy 2:7(NKJV)
For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, and of love and a sound mind.
It seems like nowadays fear is taking ahold of so many people to the point that it is debilitating and creates hopelessness. But God came to give us hope and to give us a peace that surpasses our understanding.
Today, we must declare and decree that we have power over those things that causes us to fear. The word says in Luke 10:19 KJV, Behold, I give unto you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the powers of the enemy: and nothing by any means shall hurt you. God has given us power over our fears and the one that causes us to fear. Fear is not bigger than our God and we must hold and speak this word over our situations and fears. So whatever spirit of fear that is tormenting you pray that God will replace it with hope and love.
The Bible says that God has given us a spirit of love meaning that when I have fear I need to conquer fear with love. The King James Bible says in l John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
Perfect love casteth out fear. So if fear is taking hold in my life there is some area where love is not made fully present in my life because love casts out fear. God is talking about true agape/unconditional love which cast out fear. We know as Christian’s that God has a good and perfect plan for each one of us. A plan not to harm us but to prosper us. God is for us not against us. So why fear when we know that God has us in the palm of his hands.
And lastly the word says that God has given us a sound mind. I have a sound mind that means that the peace of God trumps all the situations in my life that’s causes me to fear. The NIV Bible says in John 14:27
Peace I leave you; my peace I give you. Peace I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Let this message cast out every spirit of fear that is holding you back.
